This ancient remedy has withstood the test of time and contains ingredients traditionally used to relieve a variety of symptoms associated with the common cold. The way that it was traditionally used was in the steam source for a sauna or sweatlodge. For a home setting, a thick blanket would be used to create a makeshift “sweat tent” with the sick individuals inside and a big pot of steaming herbs in the middle. The folks would inhale the herbs and sweat out the impurities. For those looking for less work, the sachet can be used in a cup or two of boiling water and the steam inhaled.
